Abstract

ABSTRAK

Public speaking merupakan keterampilan komunikasi yang sangat penting bagi perkembangan kepercayaan diri anak, terutama pada usia sekolah dasar. Artikel ini membahas bagaimana public speaking dapat dijadikan sarana efektif dalam membangun rasa percaya diri siswa sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka kualitatif dengan mengkaji berbagai literatur terkait public speaking dan pengembangan kepercayaan diri anak. Pembahasan meliputi peran public speaking dalam meningkatkan rasa percaya diri, strategi dan metode pembelajaran yang efektif, serta tantangan dan solusi dalam penerapannya di lingkungan sekolah dasar. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran public speaking yang dilakukan secara bertahap, menyenangkan, dan didukung oleh pendekatan yang suportif dapat meningkatkan keberanian dan keterampilan berbicara siswa. Namun, tantangan seperti rasa takut, keterbatasan waktu, dan kurangnya pengalaman guru harus diatasi dengan strategi yang tepat, termasuk pelatihan guru dan keterlibatan orang tua. Dengan penerapan yang konsisten dan kolaborasi antara sekolah dan keluarga, public speaking dapat menjadi sarana utama dalam membentuk generasi muda yang percaya diri dan komunikatif, sehingga siap menghadapi tantangan masa depan.

ABSTRACT

Public speaking is a communication skill that is very important for the development of children's self-confidence, especially at elementary school age. This article discusses how public speaking can be used as an effective way to build self-confidence in elementary school students. The research method used is a qualitative literature study by examining various literature related to public speaking and developing children's self-confidence. The discussion includes the role of public speaking in increasing self-confidence, effective learning strategies and methods, as well as challenges and solutions for its implementation in the elementary school environment. The research results show that public speaking learning which is carried out in stages, is fun, and is supported by a supportive approach can increase students' courage and speaking skills. However, challenges such as fear, time constraints, and lack of teacher experience must be overcome with appropriate strategies, including teacher training and parent involvement. With consistent implementation and collaboration between schools and families, public speaking can be the main means of forming a young generation who are confident and communicative, so they are ready to face future challenges.
