This study aims to examine the nature of the Merdeka Curriculum. In the face of rapid and complex global changes, the curriculum must be able to serve as an adaptive and innovative tool. The changes in the curriculum in Indonesia over time, such as the 2006 Curriculum (KTSP), the 2013 Curriculum, and the Merdeka Curriculum, reflect efforts to improve the quality of education elementary school in line with contemporary challenges. The essence of the curriculum in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum is not only as a technical learning tool but also as a manifestation of a new educational paradigm that is holistic, humanistic, and contextual. This curriculum facilitates learners to develop according to their individual and social nature, while also emphasizing the importance of student-centered learning. The Merdeka Curriculum elementary school promotes learning that is enjoyable, meaningful, and character-building in alignment with the Pancasila Student Profile
