This research aims to examine the Islamic boarding school (pesantren) values formulated by KH. Imam Zarkasyi and their relevance to strengthening religious moderation in this era of globalization. Pesantren is considered an Islamic educational institution that plays an important role in shaping the moderate character of its students. Employing qualitative descriptive and literature analysis methods, this study explores the fundamental values of pesantren, such as sincerity, simplicity, independence, ukhuwah Islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood), and freedom of thought within the framework of adab (ethics). The results indicate that these values have a strong correlation with the principles of religious moderation, such as national commitment (love for the country), tolerance, non-violence, and acceptance of local culture. The implementation of these values is reflected in the education system of Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor, which emphasizes a balance between knowledge, morals, and social responsibility. Despite facing the challenges of globalization and digitalization, pesantren remains a resilient fortress of religious moderation that is adaptive and relevant. The thoughts of KH. Imam Zarkasyi have proven to make a significant contribution to the strengthening of religious moderation in Indonesia through an inclusive (open), rational (reasonable), and community welfare-oriented Islamic education model.
