Abstract

This study aims to explain the development of students’ Qur’anic character through the Living Qur’an approach within the actuating dimension of school management at SDIT Santiniketan. Employing a qualitative method with a single-case study design, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The findings indicate that the actuating function at SDIT Santiniketan has shifted from administrative instruction to a spiritually driven movement grounded in the values of Ihsan and Muraqabah. The Living Qur’an approach is implemented by integrating Qur’anic verses into multi-subject learning, creating a pattern of Spiritual–Science Hybridization while strengthening teacher role modeling (Uswah Hasanah) as the primary driver of character formation. The study concludes that Living Qur’an–based actuating management effectively builds strong student character, eliminates the dichotomy of knowledge, and serves as an adaptive strategy for Islamic educational institutions in responding to global challenges.
