Abstract

Shifting moral and religious values among youth, which has intensified alongside globalization and the rapid development of tourism on the island of Lombok. The influx of external cultures characterized by secularism, hedonism, and liberalism has influenced changes in student behavior, including declining ethical conduct toward lecturers, styles of dress that are inconsistent with Islamic values, and the emergence of behaviors that contradict religious teachings, as observed at STITNU Al-Mahsuni, East Lombok. This research aims to analyze the concept of cultivating students’ religious values from the perspective of Albert Bandura’s Social Learning Theory at STITNU Al-Mahsuni. The study employs a qualitative approach with a field research design. Data sources consist of primary data obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, as well as secondary data in the form of relevant supporting documents. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and systematic conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the cultivation of students’ religious values is implemented through the application of social learning by emphasizing observation, role modeling, and imitation of religious behaviors demonstrated by lecturers and the campus environment, following the stages of attention, retention, reproduction, reinforcement, and internal mediation. The implications of this study demonstrate that Albert Bandura’s Social Learning Theory is relevant as a theoretical framework for strengthening students’ religious values and can serve as a practical reference for higher education institutions in designing strategies for religious character development based on role modeling and an academic environment
