Abstract

This paper elaborates on the conceptual framework of socioculturalism Western education represented by Lev Vygotsky. The framework emphasizes the importance of social interaction for learning development. Development goes hand in hand with with changes in their social environment, thus shaping their personality. will shape their personality. This conception has similarities with Islamic education in the learning process, which both view that social and cultural interaction is an important that must be considered in the learning process, because it can affect the development of the personality and mindset of individuals in the learning process. affect the development of personality and mindset of individuals in the learning process. learning process. While the difference between the two, namely the concept of socioculturalism in Western education emphasizes more on the the importance of social interaction in the learning process for development of a person's learning. Meanwhile, Islamic education emphasizes on balance between worldly and ukhrawi.
