Abstract

This study explores the educational framework and institutional dynamics that flourished during While digital transformation in higher education is accelerating rapidly, integrating academic information systems within the unique ecosystem of pesantren-based universities presents distinct institutional challenges. Addressing this specific gap, this study synthesizes best practices for developing integrated systems through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) adhering strictly to PRISMA 2020 guidelines. A rigorous extraction from Scopus, Web of Science, Dimensions, and Google Scholar (spanning 2021–2026) yielded 28 eligible publications. The qualitative synthesis uncovers five central themes: digital governance, enterprise data architecture, user-centric services, contextual adaptation, and sustainable implementation. Fundamentally, successful digital integration transcends standalone software deployment; it demands a complex orchestration of policy, interoperability mechanisms, and leadership legitimacy firmly rooted in Islamic boarding school values. Consequently, this paper proposes the SANTRI Framework—a novel theoretical model encompassing spiritual-value alignment, architecture-first integration, networked interoperability, trust and security, resource readiness, and inclusive intelligence. Practically, this framework ensures that technological advancements remain efficient, accountable, and profoundly compatible with the residential nurturing culture. Ultimately, validating this context-sensitive paradigm necessitates future multi-site, longitudinal, and design science investigations
