Analisis Dampak Penggunaan Smart TV Terhadap Perilaku Imitasi Pada Anak Usia Dini

The development of digital technology in the modern era has significantly influenced various aspects of society, including parenting patterns and learning processes for early childhood. One of the digital technologies widely used is Smart TV, which provides interactive audiovisual features to support children’s learning activities. This study aims to examine the use of Smart TV among early childhood learners, identify forms of imitative behavior that emerge, and analyze the impact of Smart TV use on imitative behavior in early childhood at Bustanul Athfal Aisyiyah Mayang. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, and several early childhood students selected using purposive sampling techniques. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.
The findings revealed that Smart TV has been utilized as a learning medium for approximately four years to support digital-based learning activities. The use of Smart TV helped teachers deliver learning materials in a more engaging, interactive, and understandable way through videos, images, and audio displays. Children appeared more enthusiastic, active, focused, and quicker in understanding learning materials. In addition, the study found positive imitative behaviors among children, such as imitating words, movements, and information presented in learning videos. These imitative behaviors contributed positively to children’s language development, memory, and understanding of learning concepts. The use of Smart TV was also carried out under teacher supervision through the selection of educational content, limitation of screen time, and direct assistance during learning activities, so no significant negative impacts on children’s behavior were identified.
In conclusion, Smart TV can be used as an effective learning medium to support the learning process and positive imitative behavior of early childhood learners when utilized appropriately, purposefully, and according to children’s developmental stages. This study is expected to serve as a reference for the development of educational digital media in early childhood education.
